This cabin is located in a wooded area on a 38-acre property, so visitors will be able to feel like they are truly able to rest and relax and be one with nature. The Chalet has a large balcony area on the second floor for sipping coffee on a spring morning or to bundle up in the rocking chair with hot chocolate in the winter. There is also an outdoor dining space, so you don’t have to take a break from the beautiful scenery to come inside for dinner!
Inside, visitors will find a bright and expansive kitchen, living area, and dining area. Light colored, wood paneled walls invoke a feeling that is somehow both rustic and elegant. The kitchen is fully equipped with eating and drinking utensils, a microwave, a oven and stove, refrigerator, and, of course, a dishwasher. We recommend that visitors check out some of the great dining options nearby, but for those who prefer to spend a fun evening in, you should have all you need to fully enjoy your stay.
For sleeping, the vacation home includes a master bedroom suite, loft bedroom, and additional bedroom with bunk beds. The master suite includes a bathroom with a private jacuzzi tub, several windows, and a sliding glass door leading out onto the balcony. The loft includes a bed, full bathroom and is accessible through a curving set of stairs: It has a ‘nestled away’ feeling but with a full view of the downstairs area. Finally, the bunk room contains four beds, each in a bunk bed set of two. The room is perfect for kids or extra guests who need a place to stay!
One of this cabin’s best features is its set of amenities. Visitors have access to a variety of tools to make their stay child-friendly, including a baby monitor, baby gates, a booster and high chair, and plugs for the outlets, as well as a Pack & Play. Linens and towels are also included, along with cleaning supplies, laundry detergent, and a coffee maker with coffee supplies.
Visitors to the area can explore the area around the property, where the quiet woods makes for an idyllic stroll with few other people around. They can also make a visit to the host’s small farm, which is a ten minute drive from Winghaven, to purchase products such as fresh eggs or goat’s milk soap, or to see the chickens, geese, and ducks that are raised there.
In the broader area surrounding Fletcher, North Carolina, there are attractions for everyone. The famous Biltmore Estate is located nearby, a historical landmark the size of a castle that is open for tours and hosts events. There is also the historic home of the famous poet Carl Sandberg, which is maintained by the National Park Service. Visitors interested in agriculture can head to the Western North Carolina Agricultural Center.
Those interested in exploring the natural area can head to the Blue Ridge Parkway for camping and hiking opportunities, or to simply drive around for the spectacular views. Other potential experiences include the Flat Rock Playhouse, for music and live events, or Chimney Rock State Park, for more hiking opportunities. We hope you enjoy your stay while you are there!

Up a long unpaved winding road, the only sounds that you hear from the large wrap-around porch are the birds and the wind. The house itself is incredibly maintained and the hosts provide everything you need to feel welcome--fresh towels on every bed, homemade soaps, breakfast snacks, and even fresh eggs from their hens. Thank you for the great time! Philip
We’ve stayed at the chalet twice now. We love it! Clean, private, and well-appointed with very gracious hosts! Susanne Kinard Hodge
Beautiful, comfortable, and lots of space! Fresh mountain air! Susanne Kinard Hodge
Very nice! Love the porches and outdoor space and view. My family and I had a hectic holiday entertaining and hosting friends and family. We were so delighted just to relax and sleep late. This home is emasculate and has all you need. We will be back. Terri
This is definitely my favorite airbnb stay to date. It was a modern yet absolutely cozy log cabin with everything you need to feel at home. I loved that there weren’t a bunch of crappy pieces of furniture or dishes, they chose things carefully and made sure that the things they invested in were quality. They fluffy rugs and wood burning stove made the place feel so cozy and nice. Also loved the soaps on the towels at check in and the bath stocked with an assortment of high quality bubble baths. Truly an amazing place! Katie
The Chalet at Winghaven was a great home base for our group - a tennis team playing in a local state tournament. Very clean, well-equipped and comfortable for the group. The house is very quiet and feels "away from it all", but is very convenient to Asheville, Fletcher and Hendersonville. Jofre and Saskia were extremely responsive to all questions - A++ Wendy
